The world-famous Taiko group Kodo from Sado island in Japan is performing on Sunday, February 16th (2025) at the Pikes Peak Center in Colorado Springs. Their cultural appeal to members of JASSC includes their performance of both classical and modern taiko drumming along with song and dance that convey an appreciation of Japanese music and history.

Kodo has extended an invitation exclusively to members of JASSC and Sun Mountain Taiko of Colorado Springs to attend the rehearsal at the Pikes Peak Center from 3 pm to 5 pm. Attendees can observe the sound check and possibly watch a couple of pieces from the concert. After the rehearsal it may be possible to meet one or two of the performers and to take pictures with them. Note that attending this rehearsal is completely separate from attending the actual concert (see below for link to main event tickets). 

We would like to invite 30 people (16 years old and up) on the condition that attendees be calm and quiet so as not to disturb the sound check. They've asked for a headcount as soon as possible, so please RSVP by September 27th if you would like to attend!

We accept cancellations until January 10th, 2025. You can cancel your own registration via your member portal, or send an email to nachan531@hotmail.com. Please let us know as soon as you can so that other members who are on the waiting list can participate.
